Head of School

Laura Haskins, M.Ed

Visitors to Orchard House Middle School often comment on the warmth they immediately feel upon entering our doors. Indeed, there is a palpable energy here created by the potential and enthusiasm of our vibrant students and the expert faculty and staff who challenge and support them.

As nationally recognized leaders in middle school education for girls for 25 years, we bring a joyful and respectful approach to working with girls at a critically important time in their lives. Our work is grounded in best practices in education, research on adolescent development, and is always guided by our mission. Our rich and inclusive traditions create a sense of community and belonging that adolescent girls need.

It’s hard to capture the uniqueness of Orchard House Middle School in words and pictures, but we hope that our website offers a glimpse into what makes Orchard House an unparalleled learning environment for middle school girls. We welcome you to visit us to see for yourself the lasting difference an Orchard House Middle School education makes in the lives of girls.

OHMS GRADUATES

Alumnae

Alumnae of Orchard House Middle School embrace at a school function

Once an Orchard House girl, always an Orchard House girl!

Our alumnae are the greatest testament to our school and its approach. All past students and graduates of OHMS are automatic members of the OHMS Alumnae Association, a vibrant group of hundreds of Orchard House girls. Throughout the year they design events and activities to maintain a strong connection and create a resilient, lively community.

“Every teacher at the school played an important role in teaching me more about myself and the world, and I wouldn't be who I am today without Orchard House and its amazing teachers.”
