Spanish
Janey Creeden

Janey Creeden started learning Spanish in 6th grade, both in school and through family friends. In this way, with both academic and family exposure, she developed a love for the language, music, and culture of Latin America. She received her interpreter's certificate from VCU, and is still active on hospital rosters as a backup interpreter, a community connection and professional experience that she loves sharing with students. Janey teaches through music and media exposure as well as simple games to help encourage use of the language. Although Spanish is the only second language she is fluent in, she enjoys playing with additional languages which she speaks very badly, as well as all things music-related.
