Evie Metz

As an artist and educator, Evie’s mission is to foster a welcoming environment where students learn to trust their vision, are encouraged to take creative risks, embrace growth from mistakes, and understand that their individual experience is invaluable. She has worked with all ages, but has an affinity for the remarkable growth and uninhibited imagination of the middle school mind. In addition to being a part of the Orchard House community, she holds teaching positions with Virginia Commonwealth University and the Visual Arts Center of Richmond. She maintains a studio practice of photography, sculpture, and puppet stop-motion animation. Evie earned her Bachelors in Fine Art from the Maryland Institute College of Art and her Masters Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.
