Orchard House School offers a special approach to the study of visual art, dance, theatre arts, and music. Students study each discipline for a full quarter of the academic year. This comprehensive experience allows girls to study and embrace the arts in a deep and meaningful way that is immersive and inspiring.
Our arts program is also designed to reflect the growth of a middle school girl. Over time, monologues become original plays written, acted and produced by the girls; teacher-led dances become student-designed choreography; sketchbooks become portraits; and music lessons lead to the writing and performance of original music.
Performance, as a celebration, is a part of this process. After each quarter, the girls share their art and perform for their fellow students, family, and friends in a showcase we call Studio.
