English: Everything’s Lit: Fall into Reading by Lindsey Leeth
In “Everything’s Lit: Fall into Reading!” parents will explore sensory imagery through poetry and try their hand at writing their own poetry using the images of fall and Mark Perlberg’s “Toward the Solstice” for inspiration. Parents will create a bookmark with a line of their own poetry to take home to their child to help inspire their enthusiasm for reading.
Science: Science in a “Nut Cell” by Jennifer Brookman
Welcome to OHS's ScienTerrific Class! From exploring outer space to diving into an atom, we try to make the abstract a bit more concrete and personal! One-way Orchard House Girls learn science is through discussing information with me, then applying, creating and modeling their own interpretation! This helps to solidify the concepts and showcase true understanding... that lasts! Come see for yourself and take a journey into a plant cell with me. We may even learn a song along the way. This "Cell"ebration is just one of the many ways I try to show how science is like magic, but real!
Music: You Can’t Stop The Beat by Stacie Brown
Are you ready to move and dance to the rhythm? Parents will learn to use their body as a percussion instrument to discover ways to create sound.
Full session descriptions will be sent to registrants in early October. Sign up now, space is limited.
